Daniel moved with his mother from Newark to New Jersey after the death of his father. Where they stop, he will meet the kindly Okinawan Mr. Miagi. While at the beach with her new high school friend Eli Mills, she gets into trouble with Johnny, her ex-boyfriend and top student at Cobra karate school. As a result of this conflict and ongoing events, one day Daniel Johnny and his high school karate buddies are beaten, and it starts a process that continues until Mr. Miagi saves him. Miagi refuses Daniel's request to be her first sense. However, Johnny and his friends want revenge, and he agrees to be his mentor.
