A movie about the 1962 Cuban Crisis. The US administration is on the verge of making a difficult decision when the Soviet Union attempts to deploy nuclear missiles in Cuba. Considering all kinds of plans, including the invasion of Cuba, to prevent the deployment of missiles, the Pentagon and the White House should also prevent the tension from turning into war. In making this decision, Kenneth P. O'Donnell (Kevin Costner) is President John F. Kennedy's (Greenwood) closest colleague, aide and adviser.
