The Tournament 2009
The annual Tournament of the World's 30 Most Dangerous and Brutal Killers is held in a secluded town, where only the survivor wins with a $10 million prize. Organized by a consortium of billionaires who like to place big bets, this tournament accompanies its participants to the end with a special broadcast. Each participant in the tournament is given a tracking device and a pocket computer with which they can find their enemies. However, one of the assassins finds a way to escape the tracking device, and the alcoholic priest McAvoy (Robert Caryl) accidentally swallows it. Lai Lai (Lucy Liu), a beautiful woman who is one of the famous assassins of the tournament, kills her, not knowing that her ultimate target is an innocent pregnant woman. Deciding to hold the organizers of the tournament accountable, Lai Lai takes the priest under his protection until he arrives at the bookmaker's office. They manage to beat most of their opponents, but are preyed upon by Joshua (Ving Rhames), who has held the title for many years. The dead pregnant woman, Mary, is Joshua's wife and is trying to find out why his wife was killed instead. Along with Lai Lai, they learn that Mary has been a target from the beginning of the Tournament, and Joshua embarks on a bloody journey against the forces behind the Tournament.
