The Shipping News 2001

Adapted from E. Annie Proulx's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, the film tells the story of a typical journalist who discovers himself when he returns to his hometown. Quoyle's life changes completely when he loses his ex-wife in a car accident. Grieving the loss of his wife, Quoyle travels with his aunt and only daughter to the town of Newfoundland, where his ancestors live, about whom little is known. Quoyle gets a job at the newspaper of this small fishing town. He reveals himself with every article he writes.
