Mexico's sparkling sun, warm waters, and warm, almost golden sandy beaches attract countless tourists each year. Such an environment especially attracts the attention of young people looking for cheap entertainment. Best friends Amy (Jena Malone) and Stacey (Laura Ramsey) take their boyfriends with them to a vacation in Mexico. Amy's boyfriend, medical student Jeff (Jonathan Tucker), is a multicultural teenager. Stacy's boyfriend Eric (Sean Ashmore) is a free-spirited man who loves to party. As the group's vacation draws to a close, they set off into the forest in hopes of seeing ancient Mayan ruins. But when unexpected events occur upon their arrival at the archaeological site, frightened young travelers take shelter on top of an ancient stone structure. Faced with the deadly threat lurking outside, a brutal struggle for survival begins for the teenagers.
