Freshly graduated young Dr. Nicholas Garrigan travels to Uganda for adventure and helping the people there. He is called to the scene shortly after arriving in Uganda. The country's leader, Idi Amin Dada, crashed into a cow in his Maserati. Garrigan's calm and successful handling of the situation impressed Amin Dada, who was deeply involved in Scottish culture and history. He then invites Garrigan to become his personal doctor. Impressed by the charisma of the country's leader, the young doctor suddenly finds himself at the center of state events. Garrigan witnesses the murder and abduction of Amin Dada. Despite all these events, Amin somehow became Dada's accomplice.
