One of Las Vegas' favorites, magician Burt Wonderstone (Steve Carell) and his friend Anton Lovecraft (Steve Buscemi) somehow let their show get old. Steve Gray's (Jim Carrey) bright future is in the spotlight. Cynical and exhausted, Bert is unemployed and broke. Anton travels to Cambodia to show his love of magic to the hungry villagers. Bert's mentor, Rance Hanson (Alan Arkin), not only speaks and encourages the sullen Bert, he also asks his assistant Jane (Olivia Wilde) to persuade Bert to return to the stage.
