London, 1946. Juliet, an influential and free-spirited writer, receives a letter from a member of a mysterious literary club that started in Nazi-occupied Guernsey. Curious, Juliet decides to visit the island. There he meets Dawsey, the farmer who wrote to him, and members of the Literature and Potato Pie Society. As the secrets of their wartime past are revealed, Juliet's devotion to the island, her book club, and her love for Dawsey change the course of her life forever.
