In 140 AD, twenty years after the legendary warriors of the Ninth disappeared in Scotland, a young general, Marcus Aquila, sets out to reclaim his father's honor. Leaving Rome, Marcus Aquila tries to find out where and why the Ninth Legion disappeared, but he is also responsible for the lives of the soldiers under his command.
