Drew (Sophie Lowe) and May (Louisa Krause), siblings who are deep-sea diving in one of the most remote corners of the world, find themselves in a fight for survival when a catastrophic landslide sends rocks tumbling into the sea. May is trapped and immobile 28 meters below the surface. With dangerously low oxygen levels, it is up to Drew to fight for her sister's life. She must put her own life at risk and make the ultimate sacrifice. But with no visible help in sight, time is rapidly running out.
"The Dive" is directed by Maximilian Erlenwein, a German filmmaker known for his work on films like "Gravity" and "Stereo," as well as the 2019 TV series "Skylines." The screenplay, written by Maximilian Erlenwein and Joachim Hedén, is based on Hedén's previous Scandinavian film "Breaking Surface" (2020).
