The film follows a French couple who settle in a village in the interior of Galicia. Unfortunately, Vincent and Olga, who repair derelict buildings and make them habitable, grow vegetables and lead a quiet, peaceful life in harmony with nature, are unfortunately not in harmony with the villagers. When they object to the establishment of a wind power plant in the village for ecological reasons, their relations with their neighbors deteriorate to the point where they cannot be improved again. According to Screendaily, Animals, which is a “great psychological thriller” and screened in the Premieres section at Cannes, can be referred to as director Sorogoyen's masterpiece.
