Tess 1979
Based on Martin Thomas Hardy's novel Tess of D'Urberville, Tess is one of Roman Polanski's most famous films. Tess, a poor village girl, is sent by her father to live with wealthy relatives. Her father hopes that distant relatives will see his daughter as their own and share their seemingly untold wealth. But things don't go as he hoped because the family Tess settled into later became the D'Urbervilles.
