Kevin McDonald is the director of the movie based on the successful BBC television series. We remember the director from his previous award-winning movie The Last King of Scotland. Forest Whitaker, who starred in the movie, won an Oscar for his performance here. The roles previously played by Brad Pitt and Edward Norton at the State Games were later replaced by Russell Crove and Ben Affleck. Congressman Stephen Collins (Ben Affleck) chairs a committee that oversees defense spending and highlights the upcoming presidential election. When his assistant and mistress are murdered, his old friend, journalist McCaffrey (Russell Crowe), begins investigating the case, impacted by both business and friendship. McCaffrey, who begins investigating the young and inexperienced journalist Della Fry, uncovers a conspiracy familiar from political films and the political atmosphere of our country. But it is heading towards an unknown end...
