Psychological science fiction film The Sound of My Voice tells the story of a young woman who claims to be from the future. The lead actor of the movie is Brit Marling and the director is Zal Batmangliy. Maggie is a mysterious character living in Los Angeles. Claiming to have traveled through time, Maggie says she came 30 years later to prepare people for the future. Like every fascinating cult leader, she has followers who believe what she says about a future full of war, famine and poverty. However, Peter and Lorna infiltrate the group to reveal that Maggie is a fraud and things aren't going as they had hoped. Although Peter distrusts Maggie, he is impressed.
