Rhapsody in August

An elderly survivor of the Nagasaki atomic bombing, who lost her husband in the tragic event, spends her summer looking after her four grandchildren. During this time, she receives news of a surprising revelation - a long-lost brother named Suzujiro, residing in Hawaii, reaches out to her, expressing his desire to reunite before his time runs out. The unexpected news stirs up a mix of emotions within her, as she grapples with the idea of reconnecting with a family member she never knew existed. Despite the distance and the painful memories of the past, she contemplates embarking on a journey to Hawaii to meet her brother and confront the ghosts of their shared history.
