Jack Moore, played by Richard Gere in the Movie, is a highly successful lawyer who comes to Beijing to negotiate and co-produce a contract for the first satellite channel approved by the Chinese government as the representative of an international entertainment company. . He sleeps with an exotic Chinese woman one night, but gets in trouble when the woman is found dead in the bed. Arrested for a murder he didn't commit, Jack is let down by his American colleagues. Our lawyer's only chance is a Chinese lawyer hired by the court. As Jack and his Chinese lawyer begin to unravel the layers of a malicious conspiracy, they work together to uncover an intriguing chain of crimes involving the highest echelons of government.
