Manhattan lawyer Diane (Catherine Keener) is on a weekend trip to her mother Grace's (Jane Fonda) ranch with her son Jake (Nat Wolf) and daughter Zoe (Elizabeth Olsen). Diane hasn't spoken to her mother for 20 years. Despite her advanced age, a hippie Grace hugs her daughter and grandchildren.
