Ex-CIA agent Jack Ryan (Harrison Ford) is reinstated after saving the life of a British minister and his family. When Ryan kills one of the killers during an assassination attempt, the killer's IRA fighter brother decides to take revenge on Ryan and his family and comes to America. Patriot Games, one of Tom Clancy's best-selling novels, is the first movie featuring Harrison Ford as Clancy's favorite character, Jack Ryan. Ford later reprized the character in "Open Danger."
