Young psychotherapist Claire Summers (Anne Hathaway) is assigned by her mentor (André Broger) to counsel five passengers who survived a horrific plane crash. Assuming such a difficult task, Claire's difficulties are compounded when she encounters Eric (Patrick Wilson), who refuses a helping hand and openly woos her on the pretext of an accident. While Claire tries to keep her distance from Eric as her job demands, the other patients struggle to remember the details of the accident, contradicting the airline's official statements. Passengers mysteriously disappear as memories of a possible explosion float through the air; Claire begins to suspect the airlines are involved. Determined to uncover the truth, Claire's growing plan and her deepening relationship with Eric are caught in a brutal game of fate.
