A convoy of prisoners, including convicted chivalric Sam Gillen (JCVan Damme), is attacked. Sam manages to escape as his partner who carried out the attack dies. Sam takes refuge with widow Clyde (Roseanne Arquette), who lives with her son Muki and daughter Bree. Clyde and the kids don't know who Sam is. Sam sets out to protect the family from landowner Franklin Hale (Joss Ackland) and his men, who will not hesitate to resort to bloody means to seize their land...
