His career and private life take a turn for the worse when hard-working TV producer Becky Fuller (McAdams) is fired from a local news show. After taking a job on Breaking Dawn (a national morning news programme), Becky tries to revive the show by recruiting legendary TV host Mike Pomeroy (Ford). Unfortunately, Pomeroy refuses to work with former beauty queen and longtime morning news face Colleen Peck (Keaton), let alone presenting celebrity gossip, morning news like weather and fashion. Becky's escalating romance with producer Adam Bennett (Wilson) begins to unravel when Mike and Colleen collide on camera and then live. Becky soon struggles to save her relationship, her fame, her job, and most importantly, the program itself.
