Carl Brashear conquers everything that stands in the way of his dreams. Carl, the son of a Kentucky farmer, leaves his home for a better life. His father always told him “Never give up… be the best” and Carl places these words in his heart. After joining the Navy, Carl wrote letters for 2 years to get into a diving school. Billy Sunday, Carl's training sergeant, wants neither Carl nor his eternal passions. Known as the commander-in-chief of the navy, Pazar is known not only for his success in diving, but also for causing trouble. Appearing to Carl as a set, Sunday wants Carl to give up. But Carl has other thoughts. Its purpose is clear and its determination is indisputable. No one can stop his dream of becoming a diver. Years after Carl is injured, he and Sunday are unexpectedly reunited. A silent sergeant helps Carl beat navy bureaucracy, cope with not losing a leg, and make history in the army. When Carl retires, he attains the rank of Master Diver and Chief Diver, the Navy's highest rank. The film tells the true story of Carl Brashear, who made dangerous dives in the Navy in the 1950s and 60s.
