Sue Claussen is a disciplined and very organized woman. One day, she meets Mike Cranshaw at a motel on business. Mike, unlike Sue, is an aimless dreamer working at a roadside motel in Arizona that his family co-owns. Despite their opposition, Mike looks for ways to hang out with Sue with a bottle of champagne he brought. A surprise awaits Sue when she returns from a business trip. Although there is no room for such surprises in Sue's life, Mike will not leave her life.
