Oscar, BAFTA, Emmy and Golden Globe winners Jim Broadbent (Iris, Moulin Rouge) and Olivier Award-winning theater and movie star Lindsey Duncan (About Time) star in a poignant and fearlessly realistic comedy about the collapse of a marriage. Le Weekend is the fourth collaboration between director Roger Michell (Notting Hill, Hyde Park on the Hudson) and Oscar-nominated screenwriter Hanif Kureishi (My Fair Laundromat). On their thirtieth wedding anniversary, British couple Nick and Meg decide to return to Paris, where they honeymooned, in hopes of rekindling their relationship. But the journey doesn't go as planned, and the events they encounter make their differences and tensions even more evident. The couple surprises when Nick accepts a dinner invitation from his old friend Morgan (Jeff Goldblum), who lives in a trendy Paris neighborhood. The exuberant finale set up by overlapping events is one of the best references in recent years - in this case, Godard's Stranger Gang.
