A real-life film chronicles the events of the K-19, the first Russian nuclear submarine, when its reactor malfunctioned during its maiden voyage in the North Atlantic in 1961. To prevent a terrible disaster, the crew, led by their experienced captain, try to prevent a possible nuclear war at the cost of their lives. The heavyweights of the film, which was brought to the big screen by Kathryn Bigelow, a female director that successfully combines action and suspense, are Harrison Ford and Liam Neeson.
