Kline, a retired LAPD private investigator, travels to Hong Kong to find the missing son of a Chinese billionaire. He turns to his former assistant Meng Zi to find the missing Shitao. Meng Zi is now a police officer in Hong Kong. Kline fails to show the success she expected in her attempt to find Shitao. His path leads him to local gangster Su Dongpo and his drug-addicted girlfriend Lily. Meanwhile, Kline struggles with memories from her past. Cline realizes that her search will fail if she doesn't get rid of these memories of a serial killer leaving the police force.
