June 16, 1959... For The Adventures of Superman's Man of Steel, George Reeves (Oscar winner Ben Affleck), Hollywood's heyday ended with his death. Found dead from a gunshot wound in his Hollywood Hills home, Reeves leaves behind a young bride, millions of grieving fans, and a mother. Only his mother, Helen Bessolo (Lois Smith) will watch him die and seek answers to unanswered questions. The LAPD closes the case as Helen demands to find the culprit or at least provide an answer. However, Helen makes a deal with private detective Louis Simo (Oscar winner Adrien Brody). After a while, it is Simo who will untie the knot; He discovers that Reeves is in a heated relationship with Toni Mannix (Oscar Award nominee Diane Lane), the wife of Eddie Mannix (Oscar Award nominee Bob Hoskins), an MGM studio director.
