Hitchcock returns to England after nearly 30 years, and tells the "story of a serial killer" set in the streets of London. When a director makes such an unexpected turn, he brings back the cinematic grammar of his early period and throws aside the glorious cinematic understanding of his golden age. So neither colors nor music dominate here. Rather, corruption is described in the atmosphere of distant England. But following this logic, Hitchcock reinvents his mastery of the "lock shot" technique, especially in the murder scenes, by allowing himself to be pulled out and using long shots, given the "no-show" result.
