Also known as "Detective Akara", Los Angeles-based journalist Irwin Fletcher (Chevy Chase) is a dedicated, good-natured journalist working for justice and truth. He pulled the strings of many people with the many columns he wrote and worked hard to get the criminals convicted. Now a drug investigator, Irwin changes his identity to track the drug trade. During his mission, he meets Stanwyck, who is sentenced to death from bone cancer.
