Barbara 2012

The story of a woman caught between two lives Barbara is a 1980s East German drama. Wanting to escape the Eastern Bloc and never come back, Barbara is thrown into a small rural hospital from East Berlin, where she works as a doctor. Trying to settle in her new life without attracting attention, Barbara, who does not break her relations with the West, plans to escape from the country somehow, even if she meets her lover there, albeit on a whim. However, André, a pediatrician in the hospital of the small town where the end has come, opens the door to Barbara with his humanity and professional skills, despite all his cold behavior... The film, directed by Christian Petzold, won the Silver Bear award at the Berlin Film Festival 2012 in the 31st Best Director category. It became an Istanbul Film and met with the audience in the World Festivals section of the festival.
