Bir Milyon Mil Uzakta is a film inspired by the real-life story of NASA flight engineer José Hernández. The story recounts José's long and arduous journey from a village in Michoacán, his ancestral homeland, to the fields of the San Joaquin Valley, and eventually to the International Space Station. Despite facing numerous obstacles, José's determination to overcome them, with the support of his hardworking parents, relatives, and teachers, offers him a chance to reach his seemingly impossible goal. Renowned writer and director Alejandra Márquez Abella pays great tribute to José Hernández's family, as well as the loyalty and perseverance of anyone who refuses to give up on their dreams.
