Lance Clayton, a high school literature teacher, loses his son Kyle in a very strange accident. Ashamed to reveal the cause of his son's death, Lance writes a suicide letter from Kyle's mouth. However, Lance writes using Kyle's name instead of himself, and Kyle soon becomes one of the most popular writers.
