Anna Politkovskaya, a fearless journalist and advocate for human rights, fearlessly transitioned from a humble local print journalist to a bold investigator of the Chechen war atrocities and the rampant corruption within the Russian government led by Vladimir Putin. Her unwavering dedication to shedding light on the truth in Chechnya persisted despite facing countless threats and violent attacks, such as being poisoned as a warning. Tragically, her life was cut short when she was assassinated in the confines of her own apartment building, leaving behind a legacy of courage and a mystery surrounding the identity of those responsible for ordering her killing.
