Waterloo Bridge (1940)
As World War II looms on the horizon, a British officer finds himself drawn back to Waterloo Bridge. Memories flood back of the naive young man he once was at the dawn of World War I. The officer is haunted by the image of the beautiful young ballerina he encountered just before he was shipped off to the front lines. Standing on the bridge, he reflects on how their brief encounter changed the course of his life forever. The echoes of the past reverberate through his mind, reminding him of the innocence lost and the sacrifices made in the name of duty.
