In 1995, the film "Underground" (translated from Turkish "Yeraltı") directed by Emir Kusturica, born in Yugoslavia, was released. Based on Dusan Kovacevic's book, the production was shot in Algeria, Serbia, Bulgaria and Germany. The film also stars Miki Manojlovic, Lazar Ristovski, Mirjana Jokovic, Srdjan Todorovic, Ernst Stötzner, Slavko Stimac and Davor Dujmovic. II. Set in Belgrade, Serbia, during World War II, it makes witty references to war and communism. Marco and his friend are inseparable friends who fall in love with the same woman. On one of the fun days, they also visit war countries and in return they produce their own weapons against the Germans besieging the city. Transporting the produced weapons underground, Marco does not inform his friends that the war is over and gives the produced weapons to the guerrillas unaware of his friends. The gunsmiths, who finally come to light, not only realize the war is over, but also think he's getting stronger, putting Marco in an unpredictable situation.
