The protagonists of this movie are a group of little people named Debtors, just 10 cm tall, who live under the floorboards of ordinary human homes! He arrives at the home of 12-year-old Sho, where his mother spent his childhood, and as he gets out of the car, he realizes that a cat is trying to attack someone in the bushes. After a while, the crow attacks the cat and the cat runs away. Sho sees 14-year-old Arrietty the Debtor dive into the bushes and what the escaped cat is up to. That night, Arrietty's father, Pod, takes her upstairs to teach her daughter how to buy candy. Meanwhile, Arrietty notices that Sho is awake and drops a sugar cube in her hand. Sho says they don't have to be afraid, but Pod decides they have to go right away...
