Markuss faces a stark new reality, exiled to his grandmother's rural existence. An insult regarding his father, hurled by Emīlija, a neighbor’s daughter, ignites a chain of vengeful actions. The repercussions reverberate through the close-knit village. Forced into labor, Markuss finds himself consumed by resentment. His sole solace lies in a clandestine friendship with an old sailor dwelling in the nearby woods; they become confidants, fueling each other's spirits. However, an unexpected twist dramatically alters Emīlija's mother's planned retribution, fundamentally shifting the village's perception of Markuss.
