'The Legend of Zorro' begins years after the 1998 movie 'The Mask of Zorro'. Alejandro (Banderas) and Elena (Zeta-Jones) are married and have a 10-year-old son named Joaquin (Adrian Alonso). While Alejandro still wears Zorro's mask to protect poor and downtrodden Californians from the greed of their landlords, he also thinks about his happy home and oscillates between wanting to live a normal life and his duty. Meanwhile, California aims to become the 31st state of the USA, but some corrupt members of a secret medieval organization are determined to prevent that from happening. The masked hero Zorro must once again come to the aid of the people of California. As Zorro heroically tries to foil the plans of this dark organization working against the people of California, he is fast approaching a crisis that puts both his own life and the safety of his family in danger.
