Clara and her two sons decide to start a new life in New York, away from her husband who is constantly bullying them. However, when the car on which they set off is towed, they meet Alice, who takes them to a shelter. Before long, Clara meets Marc while stealing food from a restaurant called the Winter Palace. Marc, on the other hand, is doing his best to restore this restaurant to its former glory. Before long, this place, called the Winter Palace, will become a place where everyone somehow goes through the same crisis and meets.
