Hwal - The Bowl 2005 Film Sagittarius tells the story between an old man living off the coast of Korea and the young girl he cares for. The old man had wanted to marry her, raising the girl for years. The couple, who live in a community of ships, make a living by fishing in the open seas and earn additional income by reading fortunes to their guests. But one day, a young man enters the girl's life and threatens the old man's dreams. As the girl gets the opportunity to explore the outside world for the first time in her life, a quarrel begins between the old man and the young man. The film reflects the defining characteristics of Kim Ki-duk's cinema with its limited dialogue and use of a single location, and deals with themes such as family ties, love and freedom.
