Poor 10-year-old Lucas Nickle (Zach Tyler Eisen) just can't get along. Having recently moved to a new city with his family, Lucas still hasn't made a single friend. He sees nothing but cruelty from his older sister Tiffany (Allison Mack); His parents (Cheri Oteri and Larry Miller), who are busy planning a weekend trip to Puerto Vallarta to celebrate their wedding anniversary, haven't been paying much attention to him lately. Lucas takes pleasure in killing ants in his garden; It relieves the sting of disappointment by kicking, crushing, and blasting vulnerable earthen hills and their inhabitants with a hose. But what Lucas doesn't know is that there is a lively and bustling world at his feet, and that the creatures he sees as "a bunch of stupid ants" have a highly developed social life; and everyone has a name, relationships, responsibilities and feelings. Tired of their home being destroyed by "Destroyer" Lucas, the ants decide to fight him.
