Swing Shift (1984)
The year is 1941. America awakens to war, and Kay's seemingly contented life unravels when her husband enlists following Pearl Harbor. Defying his expectations, she seeks purpose at the local aircraft plant, finding camaraderie with Hazel, a vivacious singer from a neighboring establishment. Their bond deepens amidst the hum of machinery as they, along with other women, master their craft. As the war relentlessly grinds on, Kay finds herself drawn to her trumpet-playing foreman, and her world becomes increasingly entangled, a delicate dance between duty and desire. The complexities of life intensify under the shadow of conflict.
