His college student son James (Ashton Holmes) won't reveal his secrets because he doesn't trust him. Her teenage daughter, Vanessa (Ellen Page), is a sharp-tongued girl who follows in the footsteps of her "complaining" father who excels beyond all expectations at school, but who is already on his way.
