Christmas festivities are about to begin aboard the luxury cruise ship Poseidon with 800 cabins and 13 passenger decks. Everyone gathered in the ballroom for fun. But something starts to go wrong. On the horizon is a wave that exceeds thirty meters and is coming towards them. The wave hits the ship and capsizes it. Panic begins and gambler Dylan Johns (Josh Lucas), who is among the passengers, sets out to find ways to escape from this labyrinth-like ship with a group of passengers.
