Nova Zembla (2011)

Gerrit de Veer, an inexperienced writer aboard a 16th-century Dutch merchant ship, documents an audacious expedition to chart a trade route to Asia via the North Pole. However, this heroic venture spirals into a harrowing ordeal when their vessel becomes trapped in the unforgiving ice. Stranded in the frozen desolation of Nova Zembla, the crew battles vicious polar bears, starvation, and deadly cold.
