Adapted from Boris Vian's novel of the same name, The Foam of Days was adapted for the screen by director Michel Gondry. Romain Duris and Audrey Tautou give life to the novel's main characters, Colin and Chloe. In this surreal and poetic story, idealist and inventor Colin meets a girl named Chloe who appears to be the birthplace of one of Duke Ellington's blues. Their marriage, a love story, turns to sadness when Chloe falls ill with a strange disease and a lotus flower grows in her lungs. In fantasy Paris, Colin tries to heal Chloe by working increasingly ridiculous jobs.
