A teenage girl, a wonderful mother, and a smug American movie star. These are the last problems of the female director, who is trying to finish her new movie while her life is upside down. Filmmaker Margerita is emotionally devastated when her mother falls ill with a terminal illness. As if that weren't enough, he starts to feel even more inadequate thanks to his overly resourceful older brother (played by Moretti). The fact that the American star actor of the film he shot turns out to be a wise man would be the last straw.
