Jîn (2013)

For over three decades, a relentless conflict between guerrillas and the army has scarred Turkey's Kurdish regions, transforming them into perilous battlegrounds. Amidst this striking yet treacherous mountainous terrain lives 17-year-old Jîn. Having clandestinely parted ways with the rebels she once fought alongside, she now navigates this breathtaking landscape alone, trapped between opposing forces. Gunfire shatters the serene scenery, and danger looms from every direction. Longing for peace, Jîn dreams of escaping to a distant region, an arduous task hindered by omnipresent military checkpoints. As a Kurdish woman without identity papers, Jîn faces arrest and predation, yet her unwavering courage prevails.
