Jeremiah Johnson is a Western loner. A mighty mountain warrior and tough living conditions. Choosing to live in the mountains and trained by a mountaineer, Johnson cannot establish the hermit life he desires and cannot escape the harsh attitudes of civilization. The collaboration between Sydney Pollack and Robert Redford is excellent. I must say that they both understood the spirit of the hero very well and created an unforgettable portrait. Jeremiah Johnson is like a friend who is always far away and welcome. A cinematic masterpiece worth revisiting more than once.
