Indignation (2016)
Nineteen fifty-one finds Marcus Messner, a bright, working-class Jewish student, leaving the familiar streets of New Jersey for the hallowed halls of a small Ohio college. However, the idyllic setting soon reveals hidden tensions. Marcus grapples with the sting of subtle anti-Semitism, the frustrating constraints of sexual repression, and the looming shadow of the Korean War, a conflict that threatens to disrupt his carefully constructed academic sanctuary. His pursuit of knowledge becomes a complex navigation of societal pressures and personal demons, testing the very core of his beliefs. He soon finds himself at a crossroads.
